Ashley GreenAshley promotes sustainability on campus and beyond. She led a water filtration project at the Pacific Southwest Conference and works part-time for SLO County Water Resources.
We’ve had the same conversation a few times now, and it always ends with a reassurance that she’ll take a step back from one of her many commitments. Those of us that have the privilege of knowing Ashley Green understand that this isn’t easy for her – saying “no.” Ashley’s tendency to get involved is a direct result of her innate ability to lead and inspire, and her commitment and passion to bettering both the Cal Poly and global communities.
She’s one of those people who talks the talk AND walks the walk. Ashley believes that all communities should have access to clean water, so she’s interned for the California Water Board and participated in (and led) a number of successful team competitions in the ENVE department. Ashley’s equally passionate about improving Cal Poly’s campus community so that all students feel welcome and supported. She’s a leader for CORE (Creating Opportunities for Representative Engagement) leader, and she has held many leadership positions in the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). The crazy thing is that she does all of the above with a smile and genuine kindness. I mean, THAT’s impressive…and inspirational. Thanks for saying “yes,” Ashley.
