Charvi BhargavaCharvi is a co-founder of the Computer Science for Social Good club and an advocate for high moral and ethical standards in the technology industry.
Often, I say that Charvi is an influencer. On its surface, it’s a joke about how she gets so many likes on Instagram. But at its core, the statement rings true with the original meaning of the word— she is a young woman who is able to affect people unlike many others I know.
Charvi’s defining quality is the deep compassion and empathy that guides her, and it is evident in the plethora of initiatives she is involved in at Cal Poly. She served as an Executive Producer for TEDxSanLuisObispo, the Cal Poly event that brings speakers from various walks of life to spread ideas and new ways of thinking. She co-founded the Cal Poly chapter of Computer Science for Social Good, an initiative aimed at using technology to solve the social impact issues that face our generation. She participated in Girls Who Handle It, a project that inspires young women to share stories of what they are going through beyond social media to advocate for a community of honest sharing and acceptance. Charvi’s incredible work on campus has a consistent theme: all of it is aimed at doing good and spreading the compassion that is so core to who she is. I happen to live almost 3000 miles away from San Luis Obispo, but no distance can deny the inspiration that she is to those around her, near and far. Written by: Vidushi Bhargava, sister |
