Anshula SinghAnshula heads the diversity and inclusion initiative within Poly Reps and navigates her fellow advisors through tough conversations about campus climate.
Anshula Singh is the definition of leading by example. She is passionate and brilliant, but above all else, is genuine. Besides being one of few women of color in computer science, she is also the former VP of Alumni Relations within her professional business fraternity and a Poly Rep. Her interdisciplinary pursuit of education only rivals her dedication to inclusion. Besides consistently informing those around her on the intersectional experiences of being a minority in STEM, Anshula also meaningfully mentors a variety of students and equips them with tools that she didn’t have. She chose to become a Poly Rep to inspire other minorities to consider Cal Poly, in hopes that they would see themselves in her.
I am constantly blown away by the respect she commands from others and, as an Indian womxn myself, having Anshula as a role model challenges me to be better and bolder in my pursuit of success. Academically and relationally, she recognizes the platform that she worked hard to achieve and actively uses it to benefit those with lesser privilege. She is incredible and benevolent and Cal Poly’s 30 under 30 is just the first of many lists you will find her name on in future years. Written by: Lydia Meredith Dasari |
