Mackenzie FellMackenzie, known by her fans as “Felly Fell,” is a DJ who has played in countries around the world and will be playing at an upcoming festival in Santa Barbara.
One of the most special experiences throughout my time at Cal Poly from freshman year and now heading into senior year has been watching Mackenzie Fell come to life when she gets her hands on the DJ table. From a small event in the UU where all our friends went wild at how talented she is and sunset rooftop get-togethers to seeing her this year opening for Justin Martin, rocking out on a groovy school bus on top of Cuesta ridge and playing for Shabang – it has been absolutely incredible to see this woman grow so much in not only her music, but also her fearless sense of self. I never doubted that Mac would do amazing things and she has – spending four months developing her music in Berlin, where she booked five shows, getting asked to play at Lucidity and now this summer I get to see her play at Stoke the World in Santa Barbara.
She has undeniable musical talent, a heart of gold and also a secret knack for business. I remember last summer when she gave me a “BooBees” sticker and impressed me even more, describing working in the SLO hot house in the 2018 accelerator for a women-empowering sustainable surf wax company. Entrepreneur by day and DJ Felly Fell by night she really does it all and makes it look way too easy. She inspires me in so many ways in how well-rounded, ambitious and true to herself she has always been. Keep bringing down the house Mac, I know you will! Written by: Amy Albinus, friend |
